Nexform was instructed by our client to assist in delivering part of a worldwide marketing campaign for Taco Bell, involving the production and finishing of over 1,000 custom glitter-coated promotional cups for international deployment. The project required the development of a repeatable and efficient finishing process that could achieve a high quality visual finish consistently across all units. With more than a thousand cups destined for markets around the world, every unit had to meet the same standard, making consistency and repeatability just as important as the quality of the finish itself.
To achieve this, Nexform designed and manufactured a custom flexible TPU 3D printed masking template, allowing our production team to accurately apply adhesive coatings to each cup before the glitter application stage. The process involved designing and producing custom TPU flexible templates, surface preparation of each cup, adhesive coating application, rolling and coating each cup in client-supplied glitter, post-curing and finishing, application of a protective lacquer top coat to seal the glitter finish, final clean-up and detailing of each unit, quality control inspection, and packing and preparation for international distribution. This carefully sequenced and largely hand-finished workflow allowed the team to hold a consistent, high quality result across every cup while keeping production moving at the scale the campaign demanded.
Following production, the completed cups were dispatched globally to support the wider campaign rollout, including destinations across New Zealand, Europe, Australia and the United States. The finished units gave the client a striking, on-brand promotional asset to deploy across multiple international markets. This project demonstrated Nexform’s ability to rapidly develop custom production tooling, manage complex hand-finishing workflows, and deliver visually high-impact marketing assets at scale for international brand activations.
